Bibliotherapy ConferenceREAD-IT flyers were distributed and the project was introduced to delegates at ‘The Book as Cure: Bibliotherapy and Literary Caregiving from the First World War to the Present’ conference, which took place at the Institute of English Studies, Senate House, London, on 14 September 2018. The conference was organised by four English and Creative Writing colleagues at The Open University: Siobhan Campbell, Sara Haslam, Edmund King and READ-IT project UK PI, Shafquat Towheed, and was attended by some 70 delegates from the UK, Australia, Denmark, France, Ireland, Israel, Sweden and the USA.

READ-IT will be developing digital tools that will help to answer many of the questions raised at the conference, such as helping to identify and analyse the emotions associated with reading. You can find a review of the conference by Jenny Cattier (PhD candidate, Anglia Ruskin University) and another reflection and review by Dr Danni Glover (Literature team manager for Verbal, Northern Ireland)
